RHINOPLASTY-NOSE SURGERY

Dr. Amy Bandy offers nose beautification surgery for men and women, adults and teens. This can be one of the most rewarding surgeries that a person can experience, as the nose is in the center of the face, and contributes to a large amount of identifying facial features. Many people are overall happy with their nose, but are looking for minor, discreet improvements, and others want a complete revamping of their nose. This may be to remove a nasal hump, correct a crooked nose, shorten an overly long nose, or to gain more definition of the nose including the tip. Dr. Bandy offers both “closed” and “open” rhinoplasty, and evaluates each person to determine which approach will offer the best possible results. Often breathing problems can be improved also, and Dr. Bandy will evaluate you to see if you are a candidate for nose surgery. The surgery typically takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete. Recovery consists of having a nasal splint for 5-7 days. If nasal packing was necessary, this is typically removed on the 3rd or 4th day post operatively. You will begin to see changes to your nose as soon as the splint is removed. The swelling will improve weekly, and usually by 6 weeks, you will notice a substantial improvement however it can take up to a year to see your final results.
